Dear Wildflower Art Families,
Can you believe it is already June? Looking back at last month, my heart is overflowing with gratitude. I want to take a moment to say a massive THANK YOU to all of our incredible families. It is an absolute privilege to work with your children every week. They are incredibly creative, wonderfully imaginative, and just a true joy to be around. Their smiling faces and bright spirits make our studio such a happy, pleasant place to be! I have had a great time with your kids and I absolutely loved it!
We started off last month incredibly strong by creating gorgeous, heartfelt gifts for Mother's Day! During our first week, we took air-dry clay and rolled beautiful dried flowers directly into it. The children shaped them with so much care into beautiful little trinket bowls and jewelry trays for their mothers.
For the second week, we used sugar water on watercolor paper and used watercolors to create beautiful flowers that dried to a shiny finish because of the sugar water!
By the third week of May, we took inspiration from our Artist of the Month, Georgia O'Keeffe. The children used acrylic paints on canvas to create their own stunning, up-close flower paintings to celebrate her style. Then, to wrap up the month on our final Monday, we went ahead and made beautiful wreaths that we crafted from grapevine bases, and we added flowers to create a beautiful flower wreath for our homes! Every single piece brought home this past month has been a true masterpiece.
I can't wait for our next session which will be in June and be the June Bug Gymboree! Get ready to crawl, wiggle, and fly as we use fun, mixed mediums to build and craft our very own insect-inspired masterpieces!
Thank you for sharing your amazing children with us and for being the best community an art studio could ask for!
With love and gratitude,
Taleeya Parker
